“Double Dog Swear” Resolutions

January 2, 2010 – 4:50 pm by The Renegade Gang

Well, its that time of year again– out with the old and in with the new, father time versus the New Year’s baby, think about your life and all the things you’re going to do to make sure the next 365 days are as awesome as possible. And, in that spirit, we’d like to share with “The Stuff We Double Dog Swear We’re Really Going to Get Around to Doing in 2010″.

Resolution #1: Craft More

You’re all like “Craft? Um, don’t you work in a handmade store?!” But just because we sell the goods, doesn’t mean we make ‘em (or much of anything, these days). Yarn boxes sit unloved, sketchbooks gather dust, and bonefolders lie in wait. This year, we, the bearers of all things craft, resolve to get back to making something pretty, like this awesome cross-stitch kit from Chez Sucre Chez, or these quaint Dutch Russian embroidery patterns by Sublime Stitching, or with this hand-spun yarn by MaraJane Creations.

Resolution #2: Write in a Journal

We have little scraps of paper all over the place in our back room and we’re not sure but we suspect some of you are the same. We’ve grown accustomed to paperclips and staples when we should have been utilizing some of the many blank books we carry in the shop, like these by Ex Libris Anonymous, Memo and Jill Bliss.

So, where was that list of new artists? Oh, why, it’s in our new handy-dandy shop notebook. So convenient!

  1. One Response to ““Double Dog Swear” Resolutions”

  2. My resolution is to make a list of 43 things I love to do, and do at least one of those things every day!

I came up with a version of this resolution last year, but like so many resolutions, I didn’t set up a method for holding myself accountable.

So this year, I am using 43things.com and a moleskin Etsy gave me to make sure I love life this year.
